The new LEED Gold service center for Puget Sound Energy in Factoria was built on a previously-developed site to include more office space for meter readers, emergency crews and other support staff. The project team chose many progressive green building strategies, most notably, building the new structure around an existing warehouse. The new building also includes many energy-reducing strategies such as underfloor air distribution, a Direct Digital Control system to control for the variable occupancy, daylight dimming controls and more.
O’Brien & Company provided full LEED Project Management. The project required our experience in working with complex LEED boundaries to accommodate the existing building and parking remaining on the site. O’Brien & Company also worked with the contractor on documentation and helped the project team maintain enough points to earn the Gold level score throughout the project.
