What makes a business "green"?

O'Brien & Company's office in downtown Seattle, which was certified LEED-CI Gold in 2008, was recently featured on the front page of the online Seattle Post-Intelligencer.  The story highlighted business that exemplify green operational practices. In the interview Kathleen O'Brien describes the low-cost daylighting and energy-saving strategies used to achieve a more sustainable workplace. Blue Sky Cleaners is also featured for their efforts to reduce chemical use and improve other operational practices.
